Checkbox form fields
Checkbox fields show a list of options and let the lead tick every one that applies. You collect the whole answer in one question instead of asking about each option in turn.
What are checkbox form fields?
Checkbox form fields are lists of options in which the lead can tick as many as apply. Every option is visible at once, so nothing is hidden inside a menu. An HVAC company can ask which services a homeowner needs and offer heating, cooling, ventilation and maintenance as four checkboxes.
In Growform the field is called “Checkboxes”. A checkbox form built with it can make the question required, show helper text, and appear only when conditional logic calls for it.
Radio buttons vs checkboxes: which should you use?
Use checkboxes when several answers can be true together, and radio buttons when only one can. A question about which appliances the lead owns belongs in checkboxes. A question about whether they own or rent their home belongs in radio buttons, and Growform has a separate “Radio buttons” field for it.
When is multi select or a button field the better choice?
A multi select dropdown is the better choice when the list is long, because the options stay inside the dropdown until the lead opens it. Buttons with “Can select multiple” switched on are the better choice when the options deserve pictures. Checkboxes sit between the two and suit short lists of text options.
What can you do with checkbox answers?
Checkbox answers can decide what the rest of the form shows. Conditional logic can test whether an option has been selected, has not been selected, or is one of several, and then reveal a follow-up field or step. A lead who ticks “Maintenance plan” can be shown a step about the system they have now.
Agreement to your terms belongs in the dedicated consent checkbox, which is a separate field with its own label and links.
How to add checkboxes to a form
Write the question and options
Enter the field name as your question, then add one option for each possible answer.
Set the field options
Switch on “This field is required” if an answer is needed, and use the helper text to say that several options may be ticked.
Add follow-up logic
Use “Edit logic” on a later field or step to show it only when a particular option is ticked.

Is the consent checkbox the same field?
No. Consent uses the “TOS Checkbox” field, which holds a single box with a rich-text label and is required by default.
Can I change the color of the checkboxes?
Yes. Radio buttons and checkboxes have a styling group of their own in the theme settings.
