Growform's video element plays a YouTube, Vimeo or uploaded video on any step of your form. You can explain the offer or introduce your team at the point where the lead decides whether to continue.
What is a video form?
A video form is a form with video placed on one or more of its steps, next to the questions. The video does not collect an answer. It explains, reassures or introduces, and the fields around it do the collecting.
In Growform you add a video to a step in the same way as a header, a paragraph or an image.
How can you embed a video in a form?
You can embed a video in a form from four sources. Growform accepts a YouTube link, a Vimeo link, a direct URL to a video file, or a file you upload. Three playback options then control how it behaves.
- Autoplay starts the video when the step appears.
- Loop starts the video again when it ends.
- “Minimize controls” reduces the player controls, so the video reads as part of the form.
The three options together suit a short silent clip, such as a product shot that repeats beside a question. For a spoken explainer, leave the controls visible so the lead can pause and replay.
Where should the video go in a multi-step form?
Put the video on the step where the doubt arises. A multi-step form shows one step at a time, so the video appears exactly when it is needed.
- On step one, a home improvement company can explain that the quote is free and takes one visit.
- Before the contact details, the adviser who handles the enquiry can introduce themselves.
- On an in-form thank-you page, a short clip can tell the lead how to prepare for the call.
With conditional logic, a form with video can show that step only to the people it applies to. A step with a financing explainer, for example, can appear only for leads who said they want to pay monthly.
